ISBN: 978-3-643-91005-9 Abstract Following 1945, the intensification of Italian labour migration to the European countries of the Organization for European Economic Cooperation ultimately led to the reconstruction of the European division of Labour, which had already evolved before both world wars, including the free exchange of factors of production. Economically, the influx of unqualified workers, however, led to losses in prosperity for German society.
